MMmmm, public holidays...

Very productive weekend. Yesterday we gypped bed2 and toilet, and today, with Pat's help, we did Bed1 and hallway, as well as the area ABOVE the stairs. And just how hard was THAT??? In order to get to the screws up high, I climbed into the ceiling cavity. Now why did I volunteer to do that? The pics don't show quite how tight it is...

Splendid...

THE MUSIC ARE COMING!!!

And no, Liz, that's not a verb/noun disagreement… hehehe.

Splendour announcement today, and The Music are playing, among others (about a thousand other bands…) but since blah blah distance, camping, dollars, time etc for one band, I'm hoping that they'll have a "side" show in Bris here, to promote their new album.

...edit...
sorry for font (black on black), posted via email, and i suck on tubes... hehehe.

Yep, more house...

My girl with a tub'o'stud adhesive, and her putty knife.

This is the "wall" 'tween the office and our bedroom, looking from the office.

Looking from the kitchen down towards the other end...

Looking from bed 2 toward the office. This wall on the left now has sheeting on the near side, and the wall on the right has the lower sheet on the near side.

Boring to everyone else, I bet, but we're loving the progress.

5 more done

Finished all the walls in the office, from a gyp-rock point of view. That includes the 3 fiddly bits around the outside of the linen closet, and above the door.

Got three sheets up in the spare bedroom. Came to the conclusion that "Sure, it'll be ok to use a sheet size other than what we planned on using here", as long as you use a SMALLER sheet than planned.

I think that's all. Hang on, I'll check the camera.

Gypped!!

Alan came around and graciously volunteered his muscles, and we got the first 6 sheets up, in the kitchen. Glued and screwed... Then another sheet this afternoon in the office.

(You're all gonna get bored of posts like this: 3 more sheets up, bed 2 and bathroom!!)

Ceilings still bare, though... Waiting for large hardware chain store to get in the light cable for us, and this week we'll probably pick up a panel lifter...

Carmen does the internal corners...

The afore-mentioned kitchen. Looks good, no? (This is the living room, cabinets, you're all s'posed to be next door!)

Feel free to post your reactions, too, just so as i know i'm not just doing this for my own good...

Stand by for plasterage!!

This weekend we're going to start putting some walls up.  And not a moment too soon, either.  Our kitchen is currently in the living room, all jumbled and waiting assembly… Maybe in two week's time we can start installing it? Good thing in that the first walls we will put up will be hidden behind the cabinetry, so we'll have a wall and a half to practice, without our (my) bodginess being on public display.

Oh, and the down-lights we bought the other day don't seem to have a circular base.  It is mostly, but there is a little tag that sticks out.  Might mean a hole-saw for each light, and a hand saw to make an opening for the tag, it you follow me.

We'll see.

If you're go-ing, to Saaaan, Fraaannn, Sisko....

Jet lagged. Too tired. Only photos. (Good time though...)

Click for embiggenation. (Or is it embiggenment?)

Oh, and Stu: have a look at the file sizes. You might have big breakfasts, but you can get the same nutrition with far smaller calories. If you'd like to find how, just ask...

Hyde St, with cable car tracks.

Looking down Hyde to Alcatraz.

Lombard St.

Some bridge or something

And some other bridge. Tall like Gateway, then long. 11km.

That's all.
